In 1998 a law was passed to protect the Cap de Creus peninsula and its maritime environment. It is located in the easternmost part of the Iberian Peninsula and is of great biological, geological and scenic quality. There are steep cliffs, dark rocks furrowed by wind and salt, islands and islets, coves with crystalline waters and mountainous terrain with hills and valleys that offer spectacular views of the coast. Its geological constitution is unique in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mediterranean and continental elements coexist in this park, giving rise to strange species, some of which are endemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Cap de Creus there are many activities to do such as: hiking, cycling, kayaking, diving, potholing, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are some of the most outstanding marine and terrestrial species of Cap de Creus<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FLORA<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TERRESTRIAL ENVIRONMENT :<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most abundant are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>White pine<\/li><li> Cork oak <\/li><li> Machia<\/li><li> Weeds<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The most common ones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Mastic <\/li><li> Red Juniper<\/li><li> Tree heather  <\/li><li> Black gorse<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The coastal area is home to the most interesting vegetation in the park and the most peculiar in Catalonia. These are plants adapted to the wind and salinity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most characteristic ones are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Limonium Tremolsii&nbsp;<\/li><li>Seseli Farrenyi&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The most abundant are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Marine phanerogams; form extensive meadows on sandy or muddy seabeds<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FAUNA&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TERRESTRIAL ENVIRONMENT:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Birds are the most outstanding of the fauna of Cap de Creus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Bonelli&#8217;s eagle <\/li><li> Peregrine Falcon <\/li><li> Eagle owl<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The most abundant seabirds are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Different species of gulls <\/li><li> Shag <\/li><li> Shearwaters <\/li><li> Terns <\/li><li> Common Gannet<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a multitude of marine species, but the most abundant are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Red coral and gorgonians<\/li><li> Lobster<\/li><li> Lobster <\/li><li> Variety of fish; grouper, sea bream, salps<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cap de Creus is the first maritime-terrestrial park in the country.
